Evidence and Action Committee (EAC)

The Evidence and Action Committee is charged with bringing together the evidence basis for Mother-Friendly Care and translating that evidence into resources that empower those in action Making Mother-Friendly Care A Reality.  Current projects include:

  • The “Live” Online Evidence Basis for the Ten Steps of Mother-Friendly Care:  Based on the research released in 2007, this site will feature ongoing news and updated information on the evidence for each of the care practices contained in the ten steps.
  • The CIMS Compendium: CIMS will be producing a series of evidence-based topic specific briefs addressing not only the healthcare issue itself but also any sociocultural and ethics issue that may affect it.
  • The CIMS Professional Line of Products & Services:  In order to support providers, administrators and others in the maternity care field in working towards Making Mother-Friendly Care A Reality the committee is developing assessment tools, practice guidelines, policies and protocols that support Mother-Friendly Care, training manuals, seminars and consulting services for maternity services and institutions.
